Accounts Receivable Clerk

Responsibilities: : The AR Clerk has primary responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as providing key support for other accounting and compliance functions. This position will support the Controller in maintenance of the general ledger. The Clerk will perform advanced accounting duties and cost tasks. Specific responsibilities include: code travel staff utility bills and update on housing schedule, enter bills for all companies into QuickBooks and prepare checks for signature, prepare checks for monthly loan payments, prepare checks for monthly rent for travel staff of all trustaff companies, download and update credit charges on a daily basis, and assist AR/Compliance manager with invoicing, collections, deposits, contracts, and other duties as requested or necessary to meet business requirements according to current trends.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a minimum three (3) years of previous accounting experience, preferably in a diverse organization. Prior experience in a healthcare, staffing, or public accounting environment is preferred, but not required. Applicants should possess an AA/AS or BA/BS or working towards a degree. Ideal candidates will possess: professional telephone communication and active listening skills, good numeracy and accuracy skills, demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills within a service environment, ability to work on teams within the accounting department and across departmental/divisional lines within the company, remarkable organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, basic working computer knowledge, familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel, or similar programs, preferred, meet schedules and timelines, ability to deal patiently with problems or complaints and to remain courteous when faced with angry or difficult people, accuracy and attention to detail while meeting regular deadlines, strong administrative and coordinative skills, and ability to respond effectively to confidential or sensitive inquiries or complaints. The position is a full-time role scheduled for 40 hours / week: Monday – Friday, however, candidates should be available to work evening and weekend hours as may be required due to changing business needs.
