Shift Hours: 12 Rotation Schedule: N/A Self-Scheduling No Weekend Requirements: 1 in 3 weekends Call Requirements: No Holiday Requirements: 2 Major Patient Population (Diagnoses): ESRD-Hemodialysis, Cystic Fibrosis, HIV, COPD, CHF, Liver Failure, Sepsis, Osteomyelitis, CVA. Age Range: 18 to end of life Special Equipment: (For example: IV Pumps: Type; Invasive Monitoring; Monitors: Type; ECMO; Ventilators: Type; ABG: Type) Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps, KCI wound Vacs, Phillips Telemetry Monitors Respiratory available 24/7 for support ? Y ? N Anesthesia available 24/7 for support ? Y ? N Who manages ventilators: N/A Unit Specific Procedures and Protocols: (For example: Drips; Infusions; Phlebotomy; Starting IVs; EKGs; Transports; Weaning; Nebulizer to Inhaler; Starting IVs, performing venipuncture, Performing EKGs; Discontinuing sheaths) Can take Cardizem and Amiodarone Drips. Lasix drips along with Continuous Bi-pap. Nurses can take progressive patients at a lower staffing ratio of 3:1. Progressive care patients require nursing interventions every two hours. Respiratory does all nebulizers or inhalers. No phlebotomist, nursing and unlicensed personnel draw all labs. EKG tech completes EKG. Most all charting is electronic in EPIC with no paper charting. Will not be expected to interpret Tele monitors. Phlebotomy is done by nursing and ancillary (PCTs) on the unit. Nurses only start IVs; PICC line placement support (Mon-Fri) from 0800a-4:00p). Some units have skilled staff to start IVs with ultrasound such as H7, ICU, ED for External Jugular placements, EKGs done by EKG tech, Patient Transport done by contract, nurses assist with weaning off of oxygen therapy, Nebulizer done by RT Additional Unit Specific Information: Click or tap here to enter text.
