<strong>RN - Med Surg</strong><br /> <br />

1. General job duties:<br /> Strong Med/Surg experience required.<br /> Must be able to manage heparin drips, patients with chest tubes, discontinue central lines, Ortho and Neuro patients and patients with Covid.<br /> Standard ratios are 5:1.<br /> Nurse aides are available to do vital signs, blood sugars, ADL's, and ambulate patients.<br /> There is a charge nurse that takes patients and a Unit Based Resource Nurse that is available to assist with patient care.<br /> May float to any/all of the following Med/Surg units:<br /> 3E - Covid<br /> 4N - Renal Medical<br /> 3N - Medical<br /> 2E - Ortho/Neuro<br /> 2S - General Surgical<br /> PCU: only RN's with this experience will float to this unit<br />
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.:<br /> EMR: Meditech<br /> IV pumps: plum pumps<br /> Medication Dispensing: Pyxis<br />
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.<br /> One year of Med/Surg experience<br />
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)<br /> State Nursing License or applicable Compact license<br /> BLS<br />
5. Shift or schedule requirements:<br /> 36 hours/week, every other weekend required<br />
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)<br /> Floating to all Med/Surg units<br />
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.<br /> Float<br />
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)<br /> 5:1<br />
9. Dress Code:<br /> Navy blue scrubs required<br />
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.<br /> Orientation is weekly, about 24 hours of course work and 12-18 hours of orientation on the unit.<br />
