<strong>RN - Emergency Dept</strong><br />

- General job duties. Types of procedures required. Types and ages of patients, number of rooms General duties of an Emergency Department RN to include the care of Cardiac, Respiratory, Neuro, Trauma, Stroke, and general Medical patients. Population Geriatric to Pediatric.<br />
- Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) What equipment is attached to the clinic, x-ray, lab or do they have to send out for these? What hospitals will have privileges if any EPIC Computer Charting, Omnicell mediation and supply distribution, Telemedicine Robot for Stroke Care. Imaging and lab are located within the hospital.<br />
- Required skills and minimum years of experience. Skills may include anything from Surgical (Ortho, Neuro, CV, etc.) Family Practice, Cardiology, Geriatrics, etc. 2+ years experience in Emergency Department setting<br />
- Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (BLS, ACLS, NCCPA/AANP) Is a national certification required? Is a DEA, Prescriptive Authority required? TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS required<br />
- Shift or schedule requirements. (What support staff are in the clinic; Is a doctor available by phone, in the clinic, etc.) Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required? Emergency Department has 24 hour physician coverage. Schedule will be variable days and nights 11a-11p, 2a-2p and 7p-7a.<br />
- Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff? We see approximately 100- 120 patients daily. We have Charge RN, Emergency Department RNs, Technicians, and Coordinating Clerks.<br />
- Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 3-4:1 depending on patient acuity<br />
- Dress Code: Clean Scrubs<br />
- Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. We offer 2-3 (12) hour shifts for orientation and EPIC Training<br />
