12h Days 7a-7p Arkansas Children s Hospital is a 359 bed, trauma 1, teaching hospital. www.arcchildrens.org MUST TEST NEGATIVE FOR NICOTINE The 3E unit is a 17 bed unit; on 3D there are 11 beds. Prior travel experience is not required; must have 2 years of clinical experience in the specialty. Ratios: 1:4, high patient turnover; the unit may admit 13 and discharge 15 patients. Floating is required to other pediatric units. Traveler are first to float. RNs should expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing for the facility. ACH Dress Code must be followed and is available in Client Documents on the Compliance tab of this requisition. Scrubs are available in IR. EMR is EPIC. Scheduling by manager or scheduler; no self scheduling. No on call requirements. Every other weekend is required. Holidays required, as needed. Patient population: Very busy unit. On 3E we see a vast range of patients! We care for children from birth to young adult. We specialize in orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, general pediatrics, and trauma. Common diagnoses seen on 3E Surgical include: fractures, spinal fusions (anterior and posterior), SHILLA procedure, Ilizarov bone lengthening procedure, Blount s Disease, Perth s Disease, developmental hip dysplasia, osteomyelitis, congenital anomaly repair, slipped capital femoral epiphysis, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, palatoplasty, cheiloplasty, turbinate trim, osteotomy, orthopedic trauma and any other various medical diagnoses. The 17 bed unit will soon transition to a 13 bed unit with all private rooms and is staffed with experience ranging from new graduate to experienced core RN staff. A specialized team provides the comprehensive care to our distinct patient population: Anesthesiologists, Child Life Specialists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists, PharmD, Speech Pathologists, Surgeons, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Social Workers, etc. Complex specialties are usually not given to travelers. Average length of stay: 24-72 hours. Patient ages range from birth to young adult. Respiratory available for support. Patient Schooling Process: Child Life and Education Specialists actively involved in evaluation each patient for unique school/education needs during prolonged hospitalization.
