<strong>RN - Cardiac ICU - PRMC</strong><br /> <br /> General job duties and types of procedures required:<br /> Congestive heart treatment progressive level care. The cardiac procedural unit has a mix of progressive and ICU level patients who have recently undergone cath lab procedure, myocardial infarction, and/or device implant. Nurses must be competent in radial and arterial sheath management. Removal can be assisted if needed. The ICU does have patients ventilators. Both ICU and Prog staff must have working knowledge of cardiac gtts. Travel staff will not take IABP, Impella, or CVVH.<br /> Equipment utilized in the unit/department:<br /> EPIC charting, Pyxis medication administration<br /> Required skills and minimum years of experience:<br /> 2 years ICU RN experience<br /> Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:<br /> BLS, ACLS and IN or compact RN license<br /> Shift or schedule requirements:<br /> 3a-3p or 3p-3a<br /> Floating to other units/departments:<br /> YES, to like units when needed, also may float down to Progressive units as needed.<br /> Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:<br /> 30 for each floor<br /> Dress Code:<br /> Scrubs: Caribbean Blue<br /> Orientation will be Mon-Wed week 1. Orientation shift will be scheduled after education days within week 1. MANDATORY ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL 3 DAYS OF ORIENTATION.<br /> Additional Comments:<br /> The Comprehensive Heart Treatment Center is a 30 bed progressive inpatient hospital department located on the 4th floor of the Parkview Heart Institute. The Cardiac Procedural ICU, 30 beds, provides both intensive and progressive levels of care, specializing in the continuum of healthcare needs that acutely ill patients with cardiac disease require. Our critical care area specializes in acute myocardial infarction, post cardiac arrest care, coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and more. Our progressive care area specializes in the treatment of post procedural cardiac patients. We focus on intervening when a patient is in acute crisis, while educating patients and families about how they can live healthy productive lives with a congestive heart failure diagnosis. The CCUs team of dedicated physicians, nurses and technicians work around the clock to improve the cardiovascular health of the patients we serve.<br /> <br /> Name of Position Requirements<br /> Current Indiana or compact RN license<br /> BLS (AHA only)<br /> ACLS (AHA only)<br /> Does candidate require time off during assignment?
