The Nursing Manager manages nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, This includes nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance, and other operational accountabilities. Job Expectations: Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization. Plans, manages, coordinates, and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget. Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow. Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drive improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered. Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education, and clinical competency. Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives. Required Education Bachelor s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor s degree is not in nursing must have a master s degree is nursing Experience Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. License/Certification/Registration Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.BLS certification through AHA.
