Arkansas Children s Hospital is a 359 bed, trauma 1, teaching hospital. www.arcchildrens.org MUST TEST NEGATIVE FOR NICOTINE The adult and pediatric burn ICU unit is a 16 bed unit. Prior travel experience is not required. 2 years of specialty experience is required. Will consider an ICU nurse that wants to do burn; prefer outgoing personality. Experienced trauma and/or adult ICU nurse looking to expand knowledge and skill base. Hot, physically taxing environment. Patients with open, draining wounds and pain management challenges. Some patients with mental health challenges. Prior travel experience is not required. Will consider Adult ICU; Adult Burn ICU experience is preferred. Floating is required within ICU cluster (NICU, PICU and CVICU). Travelers are first to float. Ancillary Assistance on unit of 1-2 PCTs per shift. RNs should expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing for the facility. ACH Dress Code must be followed and is available in Client Documents on the Compliance tab of this requisition. EMR is EPIC. Schedule is manager/scheduler driven and every other weekend is required. No on call; holidays are required, as needed. Patient population (diagnoses): Adult and pediatric burn patients. 70-80% adult. This is the only burn center in the state. The next closest burn center is in Dallas. Adult and Pediatric Surgery: Burn wound excision and grafting. Average length of patient stay is a few days to several months. Age range is less than one year to greater than 80 years. Equipment: GE, Servo RTs manage ventilators Patient Schooling Process: Child Life and Education Specialists actively involved in evaluation each patient for unique school/education needs during prolonged hospitalization.
