<strong>NV - RN - Neuro Tele (non-ICU)/200114 - DAYS - $120</strong><br /> <br /> <strong>Non-Negotiables<br /> <br /> • Prefer neuro, ICU step down, or telemetry experience.<br /> <br /> • Nurses are required to be competent interpreting cardiac rhythms and familiar with cardiac medications and interventions.<br /> <br /> • A cardiac rhythms and interventions test will be given the week of orientation.<br /> <br /> • Traveling nurses are encouraged to take a stroke competency test (which we will provide education for) so that they can take care of our new stroke patients.<br /> <br /> • ACLS and NIHSS certification are required before hire.<br /> <br /> <strong>Unit Description<br /> Neuroscience is a 47 bed neuro-tele unit with remote cardiac monitoring. As a part of the comprehensive stroke center, we specialize in ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke and TIA patients who come to us from either the ER or ICU. Other common diagnoses we see are TBI, traumatic ICH/SDH, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and post-op spine surgeries. Our nurse/patient ratios are not set however we typically run 1:4-5. We typically have 3-4 Certified Nursing Assistants to assist on the floor with vitals and ADLs.<br /> <strong>Schedule<br /> <br /> • Travelers are able to request their preferred schedule just like the core staff and we do our best to accommodate. Time off must be approved before hire in order to be guaranteed.<br /> <br /> • Required: 4 weekend shifts and one on-call (plus) shift per 4 week schedule. Travelers float before core staff, we follow a rotation. May float to any adult unit (excluding ER), including to Renown South Meadows, in south Reno.<br /> <br /> <strong><strong>UPDATE: As of 6/12/20, Renown Reserves the right to call off, without penalty, FOUR (4) shifts, or 48 hours, for low census per 13 week contract.
