Traveler will<br /> automatically be declined. </em><br /> <em>**Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested<br /> in the unit. </em><br /> <strong>Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!<br /> <br /> We are seeking a <strong> Registered Nurse</strong><br /> to:<br /> <br /> • Join our new Thoracic<br /> Surgery team<br /> <br /> • Help implement<br /> innovative ideas so quality patient centered care can be provided.<br /> <br /> • Be part of developing a<br /> dynamic general care/IMC unit utilizing strong teamwork, providing<br /> compassionate care and employing critical thinking.<br /> <br /> • Engage in acquiring new<br /> skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture.<br /> <br /> <strong>Minimum Requirements: </strong><br /> <br /> • Facility Requirement:<br /> <br /> • Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (address must be included in traveler's profile).<br /> <br /> • Experience:<br /> <br /> • ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required. If ICU, must be willing to work with ICU or general care patient population.<br /> <br /> • Thoracic experience preferred.<br /> <br /> • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.<br /> <br /> • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.<br /> <br /> • Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).<br /> <br /> • Licensure and Certification:<br /> <br /> • Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. <em> *Will consider candidates without WI or compact license but must apply for a temporary license under the Wisconsin Act 10 order within 48 hours of offer accepted and provide screenshot of application submitted. Traveler must complete this requirement prior to being cleared to start. </em><br /> <br /> • <em> BLS & ACLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY </em><br /> <br /> • Education:<br /> <br /> • List from PD (education verification required)<br /> <br /> • Reference<br /> <br /> • Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).<br /> <br /> • Telemetry<br /> <br /> • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to arrival at UWHC. (Not for clinic positions)<br /> <br /> • Telemetry Competency: (Please note the Inpatient/Outpatient OR RNs do not complete telemetry)All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds). If there are any questions, please refer to earlier communication from UWHC to your agency.<br /> <br /> • Floating<br /> <br /> • Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization .
