Effective Behaviors o Uses the nursing process to provide care for the adult orthopedic, bariatric and cystic fibrosis patient o Collaborates with patient, family and healthcare team to develop and execute a plan of care that supports the physical and emotional needs of the patient. o Provides effective and timely patient/family education related to treatment plan. o Identifies changes in patient status and anticipates potential events. o Initiates timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risk to the patient. o Provides appropriate and timely interventions for patients presenting with trauma. Schedule Notes:0.9 NIGHT SHIFT weekends as needed. Required BLS CARD RN LICENSE Additional Education: Specialty Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed Nursing theory and practice Patient assessment and critical thinking skills as it relates to orthopedic, cystic fibrosis, bariatrics and trauma patients Knowledge of the nursing process Design and implement an effective nursing care plan as it relates to orthopedic patients Knowledge of patient learning needs and adult learning principles. Knowledge of the physiological or psychological human response to alterations homeostatic condition. Ability to effectively communicate with the healthcare team. Knowledge and skills related to care of cardiac medications Knowledge and skills related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed on the unit. Knowledge of ethics Knowledge of transitions in life planning Critical thinking skills Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge and skills related to equipment found on the unit. Specialty education/experience requirements needed beyond minimum qualifications: Training in medical clinical nursing and arrhythmia monitoring, basic EKG interpretation and cardiac drips is required BLS - through AHA Current Minnesota RN License ;Languages: English Read Write Speak English( Speak , Read , Write ) Job Category: Clinical - Nursing - Travel
