<strong>RN - Peds</strong><br /> <br /> General job duties. Types of procedures required.<br /> Provide safe developmentally appropriate care to acute care pediatric patients. Administer IV medications, calculate appropriate weight based dosing. Start IV's, IM injections, GT tube feeds, oxygen, post- op care, dressing changes, etc.<br /> Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. Meditech charting, Alaris IV Pump and Syringe pump, kangaroo pump, med pyxis, supply pyxis.<br /> Required skills and minimum years of experience.<br /> 2 years pediatric acute care experience<br /> Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.<br /> RN License, BLS, PALS, NRP (preferred)<br /> Shift or schedule requirements.<br /> 12 hour shifts, some weekends<br /> Floating to other units/departments.<br /> May float to NICU or Mother Infant Unit<br /> Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.<br /> 12 beds,<br /> Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.<br /> 4:1 ration, unless high acuity patient<br /> Dress Code:<br /> scrubs of your choice, need own stethescope<br /> Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.<br /> 2-3 days of orientation with another nurse.
