The exam is not extensive, it is very basic. It consists of 10 strips in which the nurse must answer rhythm, rate, PRI, QRS, and interpretation. There are no tricky or complicated rhythms. When a nurse does not pass this exam, it is clear they lack the knowledge to care for a telemetry patient. Not required for L&amp;D, Case Management, BH/Psych ER. The units who need EKG testing are ED, stepdown, ICU, 2E/2W, 4W, 5E/W, 6E/W, Endoscopy, PACU, Surgical Admitting Unit</p> </li> </ul>
