CDU-CLINICAL DECISION UNIT: Certs Required: AR or compact nursing license, PALS, ACLS, BLS 2yrs of exp *Must have COVID in submission, no declinations of any kind will be considered *Must be Nicotine free and pass Nicotine screen * 4:1 ratio *6 beds on the unit **Will float to ED or Med/Surg unit for tasks Only Age range: 0-21yrs CDU used for low acuity admits to be observed for less than 24 hours AND/OR for patients who were admitted from the ED and no room is available on the med/surg unit (boarders). Unit procedures: Starting and managing IVs. Administering PO and IV medications. Continuous IV infusions. EKG. Glucose monitoring. Monitoring vital signs and I&O. Charting in EPIC. Venipuncture. **EQUIPMENT: NO VENTS ON UNIT IV pump management (Sigma and medfusion), cardiac monitoring (GE). ISTAT, glucometer use. No invasive monitoring.
