And our first Bucket List Bingo winner is…

Drum roll please…

We officially have a first place winner for trustaff’s Bucket List Bingo contest! Congratulations to Rachael J.!

Rachael checked off all the boxes right down the center of her card and earned herself a $1,000 prize.

Below, take a look at her Bingo-winning photos that she shared on her Instagram account by tagging #trustafftraveler and learn a bit more about her.

Our second and third place prizes (cash!) are still up for grabs, so take a look at your board and get some ideas for your next entry!

Hi everyone! My name is Rachael. I’ve been in the medical field for 11 years, traveling for 5 and a half-ish years. Traveling is just one of those things where you have to just jump in with both feet. It’s either for you or not, but you won’t know until you do it.

What make you decide to go into the medical field?

I have a big heart and I love helping people any way I can. Being in the field is just another way I’m able to do that. I enjoy every minute of it. There are the bad days but there’s always a twist you can put on it to make the outcome something positive.

Why did you become a traveler?

I guess I would call myself a free spirit, a wanderluster. I’m a sucker for sports, art, music, haunted things… lol! I’m blessed to have an amazing family and friends that support me and my craziness.

I do make it a point to visit my family in Cleveland, OH 2 weeks in the middle of the year and 2 weeks at the end of the year. They also come visit me wherever I’m located. I just love experiencing new things, getting to know new amazing people, and trying new delicious foods.

How long have you been traveling with trustaff?

I’ve been with trustaff a little over a year now, and I could honestly say one of the reasons I’m still with trustaff now is because they actually make you feel like family, not just an employee. Thank you, Matt (my awesome recruiter). 😊

Tell us about your Bucket List Bingo board!

I own a camper that I stay in during my assignments, which makes it fun in between contracts. I always map out some kind of interesting road trip with random pit stops. When I saw BUCKET LIST BINGO I started incorporating things on the bingo board into my adventures!

  • I just finished up an assignment in Reno, NV, which was the first square I crossed off. The mountains are just so beautiful at sunrise. They’re beautiful at sunset also, but I’m a morning birdie!
  • I was able to swim in the Atlantic in Myrtle Beach, SC, after eating some delicious Pierogis at a food truck festival.
  • I checked out the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. If you love music, why not!
  • My last square was donating clothing to a charity, which I do often. Living and traveling in a camper you learn how to work with the space you have! LOL 😂

Some other things I’ve done on my road trips included meeting my recruiter, Matt, and checking out trustaff’s headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. I swung by the Stanley Hotel (haunted hotel from The Shining) in Estes Park, CO and hiked some breathtaking trails.

I stopped by the worlds largest pair of cowboy boots San Antonio, TX and saw by the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house. I grabbed a bite to eat at the ‘last chance gas’ gas station Bastrop, TX and checked out a meteor crater that was formed 50,000 years ago from an asteroid plunging into the earth in Winslow, AZ. The Beetle House in New York, NY, is a great visit, especially if you dig films by Tim Burton, plus the food and drinks are all themed it’s super fun!

Most recently, I took a cooking class in Guardia Sanframondi, Italy followed by exploring Rome! The list just goes on and on and getting longer by the day!

What advice would you give to your fellow traveling nurses?

If I could give any advice to my fellow travelers, it’s ALWAYS stick with and listen to your gut in any situation!

You are already doing it, you are out there, so why not live it up. Just start by googling “events happening near me” and you would be surprised by the possibilities you have and who you could meet. In a blink of an eye, your whole life could change. The world is your playground.

Congratulations Rachael! Keep up the great work and keep exploring!

Making a list is a great way to ensure you start making some of those dreams into reality. If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got just the thing. Download our 2019 bingo board and get to work crossing off those squares.
