Jamie had so much fun taking over our social media accounts last week for this month’s #RecruiterTakeover! She shared a lot about her life inside and outside of work and went live on Facebook to answer questions from our travelers. Learn more about her and get an inside look at the faces behind the phone calls.
Tell us about yourself:
I’m a cheese head, born and raised in Wisconsin. Yes, I am a Brewers and Packers fan! I have four cats (Bailey, Barkley, Belle and Bennett) and a Golden Retriever, Sadie. I’ve been married since October 2016. My husband, Jim, works in downtown Cincinnati and sometimes in Chicago, IL. I’ve been a Nursing Assistant since 2000, a staffing coordinator, and took Medic Training in the USAF.
What do you do in your spare time?
I like to read, binge watch whatever new series is out on Netflix or Hulu, work on the house or in the yard, play with the fur babies, travel, and recently have committed to learning how to bake and cook more!
What advice would you give someone considering travel for the first time?
The best advice I can give to people thinking about traveling is it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Travel nursing can be an incredibly rewarding profession, but you’ll have some tough moments. Lean on your Recruiter to help you get through whatever the road throws your way.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
So far, my favorite place to travel has to be Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was my first trip out of the USA and our honeymoon!
If you were a traveler, where would your dream assignment be?
If I were a traveling nurse, my dream assignment would be in California. My husband has a dream to drive up the entire coast, just once. Somebody has to pay for it!
Each month, we invite a member of the trustaff team to take over our social media channels. #RecruiterTakeover is an inside look at the people who make trustaff such a great place to work.
It’s a great way to learn more about trustaff, get tips for your travel career, and most importantly, put some faces with the names and personalities you hear every day. See you next month!
