Job Summary: The CT Technologist II (Senior CT Technologist) position is responsible for completing a variety of routine to complex diagnostic CT procedures to include common and special CT exams of high difficulty. This position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of computed tomography (CT) scanning. This CT Technologist II position serves as a mentor to CT Technologist I and students by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others. This position works independently by exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations. The CT Technologist II position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special CT procedures. This position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Schedule Notes:7:am to 7:30 pm Friday Saturday and Sunday Skills: Corroborating patient s clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner.Verifying informed consent and Medication reconciliation.Assuming responsibility for patient s needs during procedures.Preparing patients for procedures.Applying principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.Informs diabetic patient of physicians order to stop diabetic medication.Starting and maintaining intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.Identifying, preparing and/or administering contrast as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.Evaluating images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded.Identifying and managing emergency situations.Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.Performing ongoing quality assurance activities.
