#RecruiterTakeover: Meet Lead Recruiter Jenn Z

#RecruiterTakeover: Meet Lead Recruiter, Jenn Z.

Each month, we ask a member of our team to “take over” our social pages. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the people behind the company, and a chance for you to see behind the scenes at trustaff’s home base!Join us this month as Staffy (our Traveler Ambassador) goes live on our Facebook page with Jenn, answering your questions about getting started with travel.

Meet Jenn Zerhusen! She is a lead recruiter here at trustaff and she is instrumental in providing the best service to our travelers. She oversees a team of recruiters that help find dream assignments and match them with traveling nurses across the country. She’s been with our team for a long time and we grabbed her for a few minutes so that we can all get to know her better.

Q: Jenn, thanks for sitting down with us. We know your schedule is crazy busy. But, can you tell us a bit about you?

My name is Jenn Zerhusen. I was born in Cincinnati, OH but grew up in Carmel, IN until I was a sophomore in high school when we moved back to the Cincinnati area. I attended University of Cincinnati where I double majored in Personnel and Industrial Relations and Psychology and minored in Business Administration.

Dancing is my greatest life’s passion. I started dancing at the age of 3 and participated in numerous competitions. While at UC, I was on the dance team where I was lucky enough to win 2 national titles! I was the captain of the team my senior year and then went on to be an assistant coach for the team for 2 years.

I live in Ft Mitchell, KY and I have been married to my husband Chris for a little over 4 years. We have one fur baby named Ginger. I enjoy doing anything outdoors such as boating, camping, going to concerts, and taking walks with Ginger. I LOVE all sports and types of music too! I am a very social person and love to be around friends and family as much as possible.

I have been at trustaff for about 8.5 years now and love being able to help my nurses find a rewarding assignment that allows them to explore and experience different parts of the country at the same time.

Q: What are your top 5 favorite songs to listen to at work?

I love all different types of music so this is a hard one for me!

  1. Rick Astley- Never Gonna Give You Up
  2. Ed Sheeran- Shape of You
  3. Aerosmith- What it Takes
  4. Chris Stapleton- Fire Away
  5. Brett Eldredge- Mean to Me

Q: If you could give future travelers one tip for their traveling career, what would it be?

My biggest tip would be to find the recruiter that you would choose as a friend as well. A person that you feel you can trust and has your best interest at heart. Someone that you can count on. They say you typically recruit your similar personality and I would say the same is true for the nurses when picking a recruiter.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at trustaff and why?

The PEOPLE!!! I have gained some of my best friends from working here and just love the family-style environment. The culture is very positive and upbeat. It allows people to really focus on their strengths and flourish to be as successful as they can be.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Cincinnati and why?

The FOOD!!! I love that there are so many food traditions unique to our area. I love Skyline, goetta, Graeter’s, and Montgomery Inn BBQ.

Q: You spend a ton of time helping out our travelers, but where is YOUR favorite place to travel and why?

St Lucia was my favorite trip so far! One, because it was my first time out of the country and also because it was where my husband and I went for our honeymoon. The beaches and waters are just gorgeous!

Thanks so much for taking some time to answer a few questions, Jenn! This whole week, Jenn will be taking over our social media accounts and you won’t want to miss it. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, AND LinkedIn.
