What to eat in Salt Lake City, Utah: Valter’s Osteria
Valter took his old favorites from his mother’s Italian kitchen and turned them into inventive dishes to share with the lovely people of Salt Lake City. The restaurant gives you the “straight from Italy” vibe with intimate style seating and seasonal outdoor dining. They have some pretty stellar reviews too!
“Busy venue with on-point service and delectable dishes. Our table of 12 was well received and taken care of by the attentive staff under the watchful eye of the proprietor. Great option for dates or business outings. Caesar salad is a must, as are the truffle and ubiquitous pasta dishes. Plan on $35 and up for entrees, and worth it. Valet parking available.”
“The colorful owner is obviously enjoying every minute of interacting with customers, greeting, serving and pushing waiters around to do better. Keep it up. The food is classic Italian with a very solid selection and good range wine list at reasonable prices.”
“Awesome to see an owner take such pride in his restaurant. Valter personally greeted us at our table and saw us out the door when our party left. We did the 4-course sampler to try this place out for our first time. The Caesar salad, prepared from scratch at our table was authentic and delicious. The food was fantastic but the real standout here is the pastas. Without question the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. The butternut squash ravioli literally melts in your mouth. I try to stay away from ordering pasta at Italian restaurants, usually sticking to the lower calorie options, but this one is worth the binge and we’ll definitely return. Go to Valters. Order pasta. Try to order the sampler to taste the various pasta.”
Best Place for Dessert in Salt Lake City: Sweet Tooth Fairy
You HAVE to try some of the delicious desserts from the Sweet Tooth Fairy. They have everything from cookies and cupcakes to brownies and cake bites and every ounce of it is delicious. You can even get a 6-month subscription where they’ll send cookies or cake bites straight to your door for 6 months. Yes. Yes. Yes. We’re in. Sounds like a plan to us.
“First time visit tonight and we loved it! Tried their Snickers brownie and Samoa cookie, both were extremely delicious and surprisingly affordable. Didn’t try cupcakes or cake so can’t vouch for either of those, but our experience was good. Decor is clean and fun, plenty of options and for a couple bucks you can satisfy your sweet tooth!”
“We had the Orem shop make our wedding cake, an 8 inch Red Velvet – hold the sprinkles 🙂 with a textured frosting. It was BEAUTIFUL! I chose Sweet Tooth Fairy because we loved their cupcakes, especially their red velvet and knew we’d get a cake we wanted to eat. This June we’ll get a smaller red velvet to cut on our anniversary – perk to getting a small cake to cut locally is you can have a fresh one to cut for your one year.”
“I just happened to see a Sweet Tooth Fairy store about 2 months ago when I was in town for work. I had one cookie and was sold! Every time I have been back to Utah, I stop in to get a box of cookies to take home with me on the plane. I won’t embarrass myself and at how many boxes that equal to date! :)”
