The Vascular Access / PICC Line Nurse (RN) is responsible for inserting peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) into patients, while safely using ultrasound and other radiological imaging as needed to ensure proper placement and safe delivery of medicine to patient. The PICC RN will also monitor vascular access device on a daily basis, educate nursing staff on PICC line placement, and discuss risk and purpose of PICC with patient.
