Tell us about YOU! Where are you from? Family? Friends? Pets?

I am originally from Los Angeles, CA. I’m the oldest of 8 siblings, 5 girls and 2 boys. I have made so many friends in my travels for work I’ve been to 44 different states! I have a dog named Zoey who’s a German Shepherd that travels with me everywhere I go. I love to travel and in my downtime, I travel to different countries on my bucket list to see.

Why did you decide to go into healthcare?

I’ve known since I was young when I use to watched surgeries on the Discovery Channel or pretend to do surgeries on my dolls it was what I wanted to do.

What prompted you to start traveling?

I wanted to see and experience different parts of the US and the world.

What was your first assignment like?

My first assignment was great! I loved the people and the hospital I worked for it was very hard to say goodbye and they even threw me a going away party.

What’s your favorite thing about traveling?

My favorite part about traveling is I get to see and experience whatever the area I’m working in has to offer as well as meeting new people and making lasting friendships.

What is the most challenging part about traveling? How do you overcome it?

For me, it’s having to say goodbye to some of the people I’ve grown attached to. I usually keep in touch and whenever I’m passing through or have the time I stop in for a visit.

How many assignments have you taken and where?

I’ve taken 20 travel assignments and I’ve been to 44 different states, so it’s more of a question of what states haven’t I worked in!

What advice would you have for someone who is thinking about starting their travel career?

Do your research, I cannot stress that enough! No matter what company you work for if you have a bad recruiter that’s what can make or break any experience you have with a travel company. I would also say know that not everyone is open to travelers and to not take it personally when they aren’t.
