His recruiter was so impressed with his ambition that she nominated him for a trustaff Traveler Spotlight. She shared, “Denis is an awesome traveler, he loves the adventure and we are looking forward to working with him for years to come!” Get to know Denis better!
Tell us about YOU! Where are you from? Family? Friends? Pets?
I’m a CSFA based in Maine. Though I worked in-state for several years, my last few assignments were out of state. I’ve been very lucky in the practices I’ve worked in; I’ve first-assisted on over 4,000 total joints alone!
Why did you decide to go into healthcare?
I come from a very long line of healthcare givers. It seemed natural for me.
What prompted you to start traveling?
I had talked about it for quite some time. There are the obvious benefits; pay, availability of jobs, but it’s really fun to see how things are done in different places.
What was your first assignment like?
It was fun. There was an amazing diversity in the teams, which was great. We even had “Tikka Masala Tuesdays!”
What’s your favorite thing about traveling?
Certainly, that would be meeting new people, and seeing new places. (And fishing new waters…I’m a fly fisher.)
What is the most challenging part about traveling? How do you overcome it?
Probably housing. I had to stay at some AirBNB’s a few times until I found a place.
How many assignments have you taken and where?
Only three since I started traveling again. (I traveled for a while 30 years ago.)
What advice would you have for someone who is thinking about starting their travel career?
Just do it! It can be fun and liberating—and learning new ways of doing things will only enhance your scope of practice.
