Meet Isabelle, she’s an absolute rockstar traveling nurse. Her recruiter, Samantha, noticed how hard she works and nominated her for a trustaff traveler spotlight!
We are so proud of the work she’s doing and how dedicated she is to her patients. In between her travels, she sat down and let us get to know her better.
Why did you decide to go into healthcare?
I enjoy connecting with people one on one. I wanted to foster personal, human connection in my day-to-day life. Nursing is a fantastic way for me to interact with and learn from people of all different backgrounds!
What prompted you to start traveling?
I’m a person who can’t stay in one place. Movement is life. I am constantly looking for the next place I can explore, while also appreciating where I am at the present moment. Once something becomes any sort of mundane routine though, I know it’s time to change it up and continue learning and growing. Travel nursing assignments give me the challenge of adapting and learning in different healthcare settings.
What was your first assignment like?
My first assignment was a major confidence boost for me. I was able to walk into a new facility where I didn’t know anyone or how anything worked and I figured it out as I went. I smiled through the rough times and made some great friends along the way. I will always remember that first assignment!
What advice would you have for someone who is thinking about starting their travel career?
I would tell them anything that is scary or uncomfortable at first means you are changing, which is an amazing thing. Especially in healthcare, we need to be open to change. It is in these uncomfortable moments that we grow and learn the most about ourselves!
