We would like to introduce you to Ty, he has been on 3 assignments so far! He is dedicated to helping others as well as gaining new experiences while challenging himself.

His recruiter nominated him for this week’s spotlight to share his positive attitude when it comes to being thrown into a new atmosphere. Ty is always able to remind himself why he is doing what he does and because of this, he is able to push through any rough parts of his job. Ty loves what he does and is a great representative of what travel nursing is all about.

Tell us about YOU! Where are you from? Family? Friends? Pets?

Hello there, I’m Ty 👋.  I’m from Indiana! My parents and brother live in the central region with our collection of pets.

Why did you decide to go into healthcare?

I wanted to do something that allowed me to help others and stay entertained.

What prompted you to start traveling?

My friends said it would be fast paced and that I’d see new and exciting things – they weren’t wrong!

What was your first assignment like?

It was rough, but I made some friends and those first few months went by quick.

What’s your favorite thing about traveling?

Meeting new people and making friends on the units.

What is the most challenging part about traveling? How do you overcome it?

Working with new systems can always be challenging. Keeping a cool head and relaxing on your days off can make a world of difference in how you handle things.

How many assignments have you taken and where?

I’m currently on my third assignment! My assignments have been in Indiana and Ohio.

What advice would you have for someone who is thinking about starting their travel career?

Make sure to always have a good travel coffee mug, spotify playlist, and a few hobbies that you can take along on the trip!
