#RecruiterTakeover: Meet David James

We have some rock star recruiters on staff and one of them is David James, Lead Recruiter down in our Boca Raton office. He took over our social media accounts for an entire week and shared some great advice from his years of recruiting in the travel nursing industry. We collected everything he shared and you can read it all here!

Q: Tell us about you!

A: My name is David James and I am one of the lead recruiters at trustaff. I am out of our Florida office. Like a lot of people in Florida, I am not from here. I grew up in Potomac Maryland I have lived in Florida for about 5 years now. I’ve moved around and lived in a lot of places. Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Texas, North Carolina and now Florida. I live with my fiancé and our Weiner dog Sophie.

I’ve been pretty big into fishing, golfing and surfing. I am horrible at surfing. Like really bad. Probably because I’m such a big dude, I can’t ever pop up on the board haha. Still, love doing it though.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at trustaff and why?

A: I love the family feel of working at trustaff. There has been no other company I have worked with that supports one another like we do here.

Q: Top 5 favorite songs to listen to at work:

A: I don’t really have that many. I listen to just about everything. If I had to pick some I would say Africa by Toto, Better Now by Post Malone, Rockstar by Post Malone, Humble by Kendrick Lamar.

Q: What would you describe as your proudest moment at trustaff?

A: My proudest moment at trustaff was when two of my travelers ended up getting married. The one traveler put a lot of faith into jumping into travel nursing from his staff position. The two ended up becoming a travel team and having a family together.

Q: What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

A: Being the conduit that makes things happen. There are few things that make me happier than actually getting travelers what they are looking for. Changing lives, whether it be through pay, or locking down a contract in a place that is on someone’s bucket list.

Q: Who, besides your parents, has had the most impact on your life?

A: Definitely my grandmother. She is a Chinese immigrant that married a marine. Her husband (my grandfather) passed away in Vietnam and while she was pregnant and had 3 kids. She worked 3 jobs just to keep food on the table for her children. They all grew up to be hyper-successful in life. One is a physician, a lawyer, a C level executive of a grocery company and the other owns a construction company. I’ve never met anyone as inspirational and hardworking as her.

Q: What is one thing on your bucket list you haven’t done yet?

A: Jump out of an airplane. I really want to go skydiving. Really going to try and do this soon though.
