CRNA Qualifications

As a CRNA, you will have several responsibilities that involve patient safety in the operating room. For this reason, Trustaff recommends the following qualifications before applying to be a travel nurse:

  • One to two years of experience as a CRNA

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Current anesthetist certification

CRNA Duties and Responsibilities

While your job location will vary and some facilities may differ from each other, your duties and responsibilities as a CRNA will likely remain consistent across your assignments. At its core, travel CRNA jobs involve administering the correct amounts of anesthesia to patients undergoing various procedures. More specifically, these nurses will:

  • Develop and administer an effective anesthetic plan

  • Help prep the patient and provide education before the procedure

  • Regulate the patient's airway and respiratory status during the procedure

  • Monitor the patient's vitals and record their progress with anesthesia following the procedure

  • Set up operating rooms, equipment, supplies and necessary gases

  • Stay informed on the newest anesthesia advancements and techniques
