Home Health Travel Nurse Jobs

As the home healthcare industry increases, home health travel nurses are needed to meet the demand. Much like a nurse in a hospital, home health nurses provide care to patients — the only difference is home healthcare nurses work one-on-one with patients in their homes.

Combining this career with travel makes for the most rewarding adventure yet. As a home health travel nursing agency, Trustaff can connect you with positions across the United States that will build your career and offer unique opportunities to explore the country.

How to Become a Home Health Travel Nurse

To become a home health travel nurse, you will need to follow the traditional registered nursing (RN) path. With a high school diploma, you can enter an accredited nursing program at any college that offers a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree. This program can be anywhere from two to four years — depending on your course load — and includes classroom work and hands-on training. Once you have your degree, you must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become an official RN.

Most travel home health positions will require you to have one to two years of experience providing hands-on care before you can take your skills on the road. This foundational experience helps you become confident in your skills, as home health nurses are often alone with a patient without other nurses or hospital staff around.
