Labor and Delivery Nurse Qualifications

With a travel nursing job, your specific responsibilities can vary from facility to facility. However, your positions as a labor and delivery RN will generally include tasks such as:
Care for mothers and newborns before, during and after delivery
Record and monitor the mother's and baby's vital signs
Coach and educate mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care
Administer medication before, during and after delivery
Assist doctors in the labor process
Perform newborn evaluations and assessments
Work on a care team with other specialized nurses, such as neonatal and obstetrical nurses
