Louisiana Nursing License

Louisiana Nursing License

Want to work as a nurse in Louisiana? Whether you are looking to work as a travel nurse in Louisiana, or you are looking for a permanent nurse job in LA, we usually suggest the same process. First, apply for your temporary license, and once you receive this you can start working and can apply for your permanent nursing license. As of July 1st, 2019, Louisiana is now a part of the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). If you are currently licensed in another eNLC participating state, you are eligible to work in Louisiana without getting a Louisiana nursing license.

Temporary Louisiana Nursing License

In order to get your temporary nursing license in the state of Louisiana, you will need to apply to the state board and pay a fee of $100. Usually within 24-48 hours of submitting your application, if everything checks out, you will receive your temporary license. This LA temporary nursing license is valid for 90 days after the issue date, giving you plenty of time to complete the application process for your permanent license.

Permanent Louisiana Nursing License

In order to get your permanent nursing license in the state of Louisiana, you will need to apply to the state board and pay a fee of $140. Once all your application requirements are met, and if everything checks out, you will usually receive your permanent Louisiana nursing license within 4-6 weeks.
