Want to work as a nurse in Maine? The state of Maine currently only offers a permanent nursing license option, so you'll need to apply for your permanent license. However, Maine is part of the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). If you are currently licensed in another eNLC participating state, you are eligible to work in Maine without getting a ME nursing license.
Temporary nursing licenses are currently not offered in the state of Maine.
In order to get your permanent nursing license in the state of Maine, you will need to apply to the state board and pay a fee of $75. Once all your application requirements are met, and if everything checks out, you will usually receive your permanent Maine nursing license within 2-3 weeks.
